RS100 Travel to Garda – Sailboat Deliveries

We still have a few spaces left on our trailers to Garda.

The return price is £475 from us in Emsworth. Competitors can drop their boats off any time convenient to them before loading day (9th July) and boats will be unloaded in Garda on Friday 13th so that they can have a practice over the weekend if they want.

To secure a space competitors need to fill out the attached delivery booking form and return with £100 deposit (by BACS or cheque). The balance is then due one month before the event when I will send out packing instructions and directions etc.

For those that haven’t been with us before:

Sailboat Deliveries is a Limited company specialising in delivering competitors boats to European events. We are members of the Road Haulage Association and operate within their guidelines and conform to all legal requirements. We take pride in delivering a professional and friendly service. We run all of our vehicles on a tachograph (which is a requirement for deliveries of this size) and hold commercial vehicle insurance with goods in transit cover. We operate at the forefront of the dinghy marine industry working closely with RS, Laser, Selden Masts, Noble Marine, Purple Marine and P&B to name just a few!

We have premises in Emsworth on the South Coast where we load the majority of the boats. Competitors can drop off and collect their boat at any time convenient to them and trailers can be left for the duration.

2012 Calendar

So, after a successful first full year of open events the calendar for 2012 has been released.

After taking note of peoples view at the AGM and across the year we have revised where we are off to this year and will hopefully see a very well represented season.

2012 also will see the first European championships for the RS100 (We have delayed the ISAF class submission till the next ISAF meeting, as we didn’t quite reach the required numbers of boats that we thought we would).

Stadium Sprints for Cancer Research

03/08/2011 4 comments

Hi Guys,

I’ve not posted here for a while, it’s good to see the site is still going strong!

Parkstone photos look awesome-  Phil I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… you guys are seriously blessed to have such an exceptional local spot!

Anyway, the reason for the post, I noticed Paul Childs is coordinating a one-off showcase event during the RS Games- the RS100 Stadium Sprints- all to raise money for Cancer Research.

It’s a good cause and  the 100 is a pretty spectacular boat for some flamboyant freestyle racing over short courses, so it sounds like a great idea to me.

Paul’s running a campaign page here, please donate something if you can- you’ll be supporting Cancer Research and helping continue to raise the profile of the RS100!

Have a great time in Weymouth and happy sailing to all.

Parkstone Open Meeting

20/07/2011 4 comments

Hi all,

Just a reminder that the next Gul RS Grand Prix event is at Parkstone Yacht Club on the 30/31 July.

The increasingly competitive national fleet coupled with a strong home fleet of 7 boats will make for a great open.

First start is at 13:00 on Saturday with a briefing at 11:00.

Racing will be in the harbour so it will be good sailing without the extended sail out to the race area in the bay.

SI’s are not yet out but will be in line with the standard RS ones.

Let me know if anyone is coming down on the Friday night.

Thanks,

Phil

Cowes Dinghy Week 2011

Cowes Dinghy Week 2011 will run from 31st July 2011 to 5th August 2011, the week immediately preceding the main Cowes Week regatta.  It attracts numerous classes from high performance catamarans to mixed handicap dinghies and their RS100 sailors have asked for a shout-out for this event.

With 7 RS100 sailors already , Gurnard SC are looking for the magic few visitors who will enable them to realise a separate fleet start for the RS100 Class this year. (8 entries minimum)  So if you are interested in sailing with one of the largest local fleets of RS100 sailors, in an idyllic, world famous location, then please see Gurnard Sailing Club Cowes Dinghy Week website for more information.
