#2: a successful class (09/10)

Dear Sailors,

Wow!  43 boats on the start line, exceeding all expectations; 8 full-on races in fantastic conditions full of spills, thrills, loads of fun and great class racing; and all concluding with the crowning of our two very well deserved inaugural National Champions!

It barely seems possible for our Class to have got off to such a fantastic start just six months after the first boats hit the water! The future looks very bright.

For those who were there, thank you so much for your support and for making this such an enjoyable event. It was great meeting everybody and I am sure we all have great memories and some tales to tell. For those who couldn’t make it this time, we look forward to welcoming you to our future events in the very near future.

RS have given us a truly fantastic boat (thank you so much guys!) and with our class organisation now all in place we have the opportunity to build on this great start to create the sort of class that we all want – great boat, great racing, loads of fun!  However, a class is nothing without its sailors and we therefore welcome you all to get involved and to participate in whatever way you can – we look forward to hearing from you with your ideas and suggestions for the way forward. Its now our class and lets all work together to make it a great one.

Welcome to our newsletter and the start of the RS100 Class.

Here’s to great sailing and fun times ahead !

Chris Cunningham – UK Class Chairman

Fun & Games:

Ifamous RS100 sailing legend Graeme Fuller, GBR123 has been busy creating some rather unique video clip commentary before and after the National Championship.

For those who missed them, they can be viewed following the links below.  Apologies to those who don’t get all the Yachts & Yachting Forum ‘in-jokes’ from its resident troll… you obviously have better ways to spend 9 to 5!

Nationals Controversy

Breaking News from Sarah Palin

Of course Graeme wouldn’t do it unless he wanted the attention, and who are we to deny him a good bit of banter?  Therefore following the entourage he brought to Parkstone, and the endless list of his excuses and accusations that are currently floating around the tinterweb, a suitable response was created just for him here.

Apologies to the Phantom Fleet, Simon Childs (GBR191) & Nick Peters (GBR104) in advance.

Please feel to circulate this newsletter to fellow sailors.

Yours sincerely,

RS100 Sailing Admin
